Delete Your Tap Guardian Account
You can delete your Tap Guardian account at any time. There are two ways to do this — directly inside the app, or by submitting a request to our support team.
Option 1: Delete in the app (recommended)
- Open the Tap Guardian app on your parent device.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Go to Account > Delete Account.
- Confirm in the dialog. Your account enters a 14-day grace period during which you can cancel deletion by simply signing back in.
- After the 14-day grace period, your account and all data are permanently deleted from our production systems, and from encrypted backups within 30 days.
Option 2: Request deletion by email
If you can no longer access the app, email us from the email address on your account with the subject line “Delete My Account”. Include your full name and the email associated with your Tap Guardian account.

What gets deleted
- Your parent account and profile
- All child profiles you created
- Location history
- App usage and screen time data
- Tasks, rewards, and points
- Brain Boost quiz history
- Chat messages
- Phone numbers stored for SOS
What we keep (for legal reasons)
- Billing and transaction records for up to 7 years (tax/audit compliance)
- Security and fraud-prevention logs in aggregated, de-identified form
Cancel your subscription separately
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your App Store or Google Play subscription. To stop being billed, you must cancel through your device's subscription settings:
- iOS: Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Tap Guardian > Cancel
- Android: Google Play > Menu > Subscriptions > Tap Guardian > Cancel
Timeline
- Immediately: Your account is deactivated and queued for deletion.
- Days 1–14 (grace period): You can cancel the deletion at any time by signing back into your account.
- After 14 days: All personal data — parent and child profiles, location history, screen time data, chat messages, tasks, and rewards — is permanently deleted from our production systems.
- Within 30 days: All data is purged from encrypted backups.
